Estefanía Porqueras
Sieben Tage lang untersucht unsere diesjährige Residenzkünstlerin Estefanía Porqueras in ihrer ersten Recherche zu A-Cos.o eine mögliche, auf Tap Dance basierende Bewegungssprache, die als Antwort auf körperliche und emotionale Unterdrückung des Individuums gelesen werden kann. Durch den Einsatz von am tanzenden Körper angebrachten Mikro-Kameras, deren Bilder live projiziert werden sollen, plant sie die Zuschauer*innenperspektive zu erweitern.
Estefanía Porqueras ist eine Tap-Tänzerin, Choreografin, Dozentin und Kuratorin aus Barcelona. Mit ihrer Arbeit fördert sie kontinuierlich die künstlerische Entwicklung des Tap Dance und setzt sich für die Vernetzung von Tap mit anderen und neuen Tanzformen ein. Sie ist künstlerische Leiterin der Tanzkompanie UNUM Project. Porqueras tanzt als Protagonistin der CAMUT BAND, einer der renommiertesten internationalen Tap Dance Gruppen, und ist Kuratorin des Tap Dance-Programms im alternativen Theater Golem´S in Barcelona. Seit 2012 unterrichtet sie regelmäßig an der Escola Luthier, die eines der führenden Zentren für Tap Dance in Barcelona ist.
Gegenwärtig bestehen für Tap Dance Künstler*innen kaum Möglichkeiten erste Ideen zu skizzieren und mögliche Strukturen für weitere Arbeiten zu entwerfen. Mit dem Tap-Lab möchten wir zur Förderung und damit zur Stärkung und Zukunftssicherung der aktuellen Tap Dance Kultur beitragen.

For seven days, Estefanía Porqueras, this year´s Artist in Residence, explores a possible tap dance-based movement language that can be read as a response to physical and emotional oppression of the individual in her first research on A-Cos.o. By using micro-cameras attached to the dancing body, whose images are to be projected live, she plans to expand the viewer´s perspective.
Estefanía Porqueras is a tap dancer, choreographer, teacher and curator from Barcelona. With her work, she continuously promotes the artistic development of tap dance and advocates the networking of tap with other and new dance forms. She is the artistic director of the dance company UNUM Project. Porqueras dances as the protagonist of CAMUT BAND, one of the most renowned international tap dance groups, and is the curator of the tap dance program at the alternative theater Golem´S in Barcelona. Since 2012 she has been teaching regularly at the Escola Luthier, one of the leading centers for tap dance in Barcelona.
There are currently barely any opportunities for tap dance artists to sketch out initial ideas and design possible structures for further work. With the Tap-Lab, we would like to contribute to the support and, therefore, to a strengthening and safeguarding of the future of current Tap Dance culture.
